Japanese Acupuncture During Pregnancy

Japanese Acupuncture During Late Stages of  Pregnancy.

Georgia Lynn was born to proud parents Lischelle and Todd, a 7lb 9oz beauty…..here’s the punchline, 2.5 hour labor, I think Lischelle likes pre labor acupuncture, a lot!

  1. Hi Alan
Watched your video on acupuncture during pregnancy just now.
I havent been needling ciliao Bl32,33,34 in the last month of pregnancy but think I will try it to prevent girls from going over full term and ending up on the medical intervention path!
I have been using bl40 which I can understand makes a massive difference.
I have a lovely story of a client how came to me last week. She’s 45 year of age and was 39 week pregnant with gestational diabetes. She was stressed and wanted to be medically induced which I advised her to not and to use acupuncture and connect with her baby instead.
I rang to follow up the next day. She felt much more relaxed and connected.
The following morning I got a text message saying she had a 4hr labour and received her healthy baby girl. Her obstetrician is who I work with at the SUnshine Coast Private hospital and I’m due to treat this client in the maternity ward today!!!
Got to be happy with that.
Thank you Alan for being my guide.

    • What a wonderful outcome Nadja, you deserve every success!
The work you put into gaining acceptance within the hospital system and developing the expertise to work in the pre-natal area is legendary.
Congratulations on assisting this patient to achieve her desired outcome.
Tis both a pleasure and a privilege to have played a role in assisting you on your way.
Big ups Nadja, love your work!

  2. Hi Alan,

great post on fostering a quick and painless delivery. You stated that you only use ondan on SP 6 in the last tri-mester. I thought that you use it earlier on though. Can you please clarify and maybe provide some detail about your thoughts of appropriate/inappropriate points/methods within each tri-mester?

    thank you,

    Adam

    • Many thanks for your great feedback Adam!
Tend to use tonetskyu (Rice Grain Moxibustion) on Sp.6 until week 35.
Ondan on Sp.6 is best used only in the last month of pregnancy.
Most points are safe to use, it is more about how we use the point’s than which points we use.
I will do my best to put a short video together on the subject before I head to New Zealand next week.
      Hope that helps.
      All the Best,
      Alan
      PS.
Might be best for me to post a reply on the http://www.worldacupuncture.com forum.
